Furkating is the main railway junction in the Golaghat district in the state of Assam in India.
History[edit | edit source]
The 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3ā8 in) wide metre-gauge railway track earlier laid by Assam Bengal Railway from Chittagong to Lumding was extended to Tinsukia on the DibruāSadiya line in 1903.[1][2]
The MarianiāFurkating line was operated by Jorhat-Provincial Railway.[1]
The project for the conversion of the LumdingāDibrugarh section from metre gauge to 5 ft 6 in (1,676 mm) broad gauge was completed by the end of 1997.[3]

Furkating railway station has a double-bedded retiring room.[4]
It is also equipped with free wifi.[5]
