Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_67137_DSC02916.JPG Notes: ב-1902 ולפני הקמת הכנסייה נחנך במקום בית היתומים של הנזירים האיטלקים הסלזיאנים. תרומות שקיבל המסדר החל ב-1905 בעיקר מצרפת ומבלגיה אפשרו את הקמת הכנסייה. המבנה תוכנן על ידי האדריכל הצרפתי לוסיה גוטייה והבנייה החלה בשנת 1906. בתקופת מלחמת העולם הראשונה פסקה מלאכת ההקמה והכנסייה נחנכה לבסוף ב-1920. בימי המלחמה שימש המבנה כמחנה של הצבא העותמאני. מספר מועט של יתומים ונזירים שהו גם הם במבנה. עד סיום המבנה עשו המאמינים שימוש בקריפטה כבית תפילה.
