English: It is love legend of Punjab of 12 th. century. Sassi was very beautiful but brought up a washer-man. Mir Punnu Khan was son of a king of Baluchistan. They fell in love. Punnu's family were against it. On marriage day they forced Punnu to drink wine. When he became intoxicated. His family took him through desert. Next morning, when Sassi got up, she realised that she was cheated. She became mad with the grief of separation from her lover and ran barefoot towards the town of Kech Makran. To reach it, she had to cross miles of desert. Alone, she continued her journey until her feet were blistered and her lips were parched from crying "Punnu, Punnu!". A Shepherd narrated whole story. It became legend.
