English: The British Residency is a group of several building in a common precinct in the city of Lucknow, India. The Residency now exists in ruins and is located in the heart of the city. It was constructed during the rule of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan II,who was the fifth Nawab of the province of Awadh.The construction took place between 1780 to 1800 AD and served as the residence for the British Resident General who was a representative in the court of the Nawab.
हिन्दी: लखनऊ के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण ऐतिहासिक स्थलों में से एक है। रेजीडेंसी में कई इमारतें शामिल हैं। इसका निर्माण नवाब आसफ-उद- दौला ने 1775 में शुरू किया करवाया था और 1800 ई. में इसे नवाब सादत अली खान के द्वारा पूरा करवाया गया। यह गोमती नदी के तट पर स्थित है।
