English: Naganathaswamy temple – Manampādi
This temple was constructed during the time of Rajendra Chola I. It contained 8 inscriptions of Rajendra Chola I (A.D. 1012–1044). One of the inscriptions refers to this place as Ilankoilnādu Vira Nārāyananallūr. The construction works might have been completed during the 8ᵗʰ regnal year of Rajendra Chola I, and the date of this temple can be fixed as 1020 A.D. The temple consists of a Sivalinga and the subsidiary deities like Dakshināmūrti, Lingodbhava, Brahma, Durga, Ganesa, and Muruga. A smiling female figure is shown seated on a torana in a standing posture. She is shown with braided hair and ornaments. She is shown sitting in the anjali hasta. She is shown standing below a tree. The swaying is shown as female form and who is identified as Navā Kālai, a tree named as naval tree (naval maram), on the banks of river Kaveri.
