English: A lot of bustle at the ferry pier of Hasnabad. Those ferries are crossing a branch of River Ganges to connect Hingalganj which is on an island in the ganges delta. All boats have an engine. As the wooden boats have many leaks, bilge pumps are included in the engines and pretty busy. A lot of folks, motorcycles, bicylcles, chicken... a lot of stuff aboard except life jackets. All boats have "India" written on the hull as the Bangladesh border is very close.
Deutsch: Viel Betrieb am Fähranleger von Hasnabad. Die Fähren setzen vom "Festland" über zu einer Insel im Gangesdelta. Die Boote sind alle motorisiert. Da die Holzrümpfe der Boote viele Lecks haben ist die Lenzpumpe in der Maschine integriert. Viele Leute, Hühner, Motorräder, Fahrräder... alles an Bord, nur keine Schwimmwesten. Alle Boote sind mit "India" beschriftet, weil die Grenze zu Bangladesh sehr nah ist. |
