Label: The Hindu god Vishnu is celebrated for saving the world from terrible dangers. He is always shown with blue skin and holding a discus, a conch shell, a mace, and a lotus flower. He swoops down from heaven on an eagle named Garuda, who has four arms in this image, two of which hold vessels that probably contain the nectar of immortality. In one story, Garuda gains the respect of the gods when he delivers the nectar without actually tasting it himself.
