English: Gajendra Moksham - which is the largest single piece of mural painting so far discovered in Kerala. This 154 Sq. Ft. sized mural drawn with natural colour dyes. The literal meaning of 'Gajendra Moksham' is the "salvation or Moksha of the elephant king Gajendra." The theme of the mural is mythological and depicts an elephant saluting Lord Vishnu in devotion while the other minor gods, goddesses and saints look on. Lord Vishnu was the family deity of the Kayamkulam Kings. This mural, in a fusion of colours and expressions, was placed prominently at the entrance to the palace from the pond to enable the kings to worship the deity after their daily ablutions. It is situated in Krishnapuram Palace is a palace and museum located in Kayamkulam near Alappuzha in Alappuzha district, Kerala in South India. മലയാളം: കേരളത്തിൽ ഇതുവരെ കണ്ടെത്തിയതിൽ വച്ച് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഒറ്റ പ്രതലത്തിൽ പ്രകൃതി ദത്തമായ ചായങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് സൃഷ്ടിച്ച ചുവർ ചിത്രമാണ് ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ കായംകുളത്തിനടുത്ത് കൃഷ്ണപുരം കൊട്ടാരത്തിലെ തേവാരപ്പുരയുടെ സമീപമുള്ള ഭിത്തിയിൽ കാണാവുന്ന ഗജേന്ദ്രമോക്ഷം. ചുവര്ചിത്രകലയിലെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ക്ലാസിക് കലാസൃഷ്ടികളിലൊന്നാണ് 154 ചതുരശ്ര അടി വിസ്തൃതിയുള്ള ഈ ചുവര്ചിത്രം. പച്ചിലച്ചാറ്, പഴച്ചാറ്, മഞ്ഞള്പ്പൊടി, ചുണ്ണാമ്പ്, ഇഷ്ടികപ്പൊടി, പനച്ചിയുടെ പശ, കള്ളിമുള്ളിന്റെ നീര് എന്നിവയാണ് ഗജേന്ദ്രമോക്ഷം വരയ്ക്കാന് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ചായക്കൂട്ടുകൾ. ശ്രീ മഹാഭാഗവതം അഷ്ടമസ്കന്ധത്തിലെ ഗജേന്ദ്രമോക്ഷം എന്ന ഭാഗമാണ് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിനാധാരം. |
